The Older Alphabetical Catalogue

The older alphabetical catalogue is the original card catalogue of the university library and contains records of materials not to be found in Album, comprising data on foreign materials in the library, prior to 1975. The corresponding items are not shelved together in one collection only, but placed in open access collections as well as in closed stacks, depending upon the character of the items.

The Curman Collection

In 1966 the former Director of National Antiquities, Sigurd Curman's book collection was donated to Umeå University Library. The collection consists primarily of books related to art, architecture, history and topography.

The Ekström Collection

The Ekström collection consists of books, engravings and lithographs on the subject of the teaching of writing and drawing from the 16th century to the 20th century.

The Granlund Collection

J.N. Granlund's book collection consists of approximately 1,000 volumes from four centuries, primarily in the field of mathematics.

RARA: Umeå University Library Digital Collection

Umeå University Library has a number of collections of great cultural and historical value. Most of these works are not catalogued in Album and are therefore not available to many of our users. The Library has begun the digitalization of old literature - project RARA.

The Leaflet Collection

Umeå University Library also receives Swedish publications which do not fall into the usual categories of books and journals. They belong to the leaflet collection, which is for reference only. The Östergren Collection

In the University Library's Special Collections there are about 25,000 titles which belonged to professor Olof Östergren (1874-1963), Uppsala. The collection has its emphasis on language studies, but also includes much in other subject areas, in Swedish as well as foreign titles.
