The department is in charge of management and development of the older collections and book bindery of the Library. The older collections comprises archives, such as manuscripts, and Special Collections. Special Collections include material that is printed until 1850, and printed material that for some reason (e.g. rarity, value, condition) has a need of special, closed storage.
The department is also in charge of the Library’s digitisation.
Archives and Special Collections replaces the former department The Research Archives. You will find us at level 3 in the University Library.
