Why are there so many empty shelves in the library?

[2010-12-22]

As of January 1, 2011, the library is changing from the Swedish SAB classification system to DDC (Dewey Decimal Classification).

Inch by inch the empty shelves will be filled with new books, acquired in 2011, observing the new classification rules. The biggest difference you will notice is the change in shelf marks, DDC is based on numbers while SAB is based on letters.

Questions about the change to DDC? Please, turn to the Information desk.
